Most people, both male and female can benefit from laser hair removal. The best results are seen in people with dark hair and fair skin as there is a good contrast between the skin and hair. If you have higher levels of pigmentation in your skin, extra care will be needed. We are able to treat skin types 1 to 5 using our Lightsheer Diode laser, which ranges from white skin up to a dark Asian skin. We are unable to treat tanned skin as there is a risk of burning with the laser. We would advise waiting until the skin has returned to its natural colour with no tan remaining in the area to be treated before coming for laser treatment. This would usually be a minimum of four weeks after sun exposure, but may be longer if there is a deep tan.
- You have fair, blonde, grey or white hair
- You are pregnant
- You are tanned in the area to be treated or have used a sun bed recently, or have used a fake tan in the last 2 weeks.
- You have had an epileptic seizure in the last 2 years.
- You have used certain acne treatments in the past 6 months.
