How Does Laser Hair
Removal
Work?
The laser beam emits light at a high (infrared)
intensity that is absorbed by the melanin (dark
pigment) in their hair and is converted into heat.
This disrupts the growth in cells in their follicle
and so the hair is lost and regrowth is
significantly reduced.
The Lightsheer Diode System, uses a water cooled
“tip” which is held against the skin. This makes the
procedure more comfortable, protects the skin
and increases effectiveness. The area is shaved
prior to treatment.

Although laser hair removal removes hair in every
cycle, it’s most effective when hairs are “growing” –
when the hair is present all the way down the
follicle and attached to the root.
As not all hairs are growing at any one time, you
will need to complete several treatments to ensure
all the hairs have been captured in their growing
cycle for the best results. This may vary between
individuals but, on average, a minimum of 6
treatments will be needed.
